The St. Augustine Archaeological Association welcomes Dr. Karen Anderson-Cordova to discuss indigenous resistance and cultural transformation in the Spanish Caribbean. Her presentation is entitled “Surviving Spanish Conquest”: Indian Fight, Flight & Transformation in the Caribbean. The event will be in the Flagler Room.
Dr. Anderson-Cordova, retired from the historic preservation division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, served as an instructor of anthropology at Georgia State University, an assistant professor of anthropology and social sciences at the University of Puerto Rico, a Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer, and a historian and archaeologist in the State Historic Preservation Office in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
