Join us on the last Thursday of the month at the Lightner Museum for ‘Lightner After Hours’. This month join us on the second floor gallery spaces to enjoy an evening of art, music, and conversation in what used to be the Alcazar Hotel’s spa facilities. The second floor now houses the museum’s porcelain collections, cut glass collections, Tiffany glass and stained glass collections. Put your sleuthing glasses on and identify the different countries our collection hails from while enjoying wine and refreshments.
Lightner Museum Curator, Barry Myers, will be rubbing elbows with guests offering “fun facts” on second floor collection pieces. Museum docents will also be on-hand to talk to guests about their favorite, and possibly least favorite, parts of the collections and the Alcazar Hotel. Enchanting music will be provided by Jacksonville’s Blue Muse. They specialize in classic jazz standards as well as its’ own take on more modern classics.
Lightner After Hours is free and open to the public. Beverages are available for a donation. Professional attire is encouraged. Please enter through the Cafe Alcazar entrances on Cordova Street or Granada Street. Free parking is available after 5:00pm.
