Travel back in time and experience the journey to Fort Mose! Celebrating Black History Month, the volunteers of Florida Living History, Inc., will participate in Flight To Freedom, a unique, living-history Event, which retells the saga of travelers fleeing from slavery in the British colonies to freedom in Spanish Florida on America’s original “Underground Railroad”.
Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first, legally sanctioned free black settlement in the continental U.S., established in 1738.
Admission to this heritage Event is free. Admission to the Visitor Center, there is a $2.00 fee per adult; children under 6 are free. This year the event is open to both the public and school group for three days; February 8-10, 2018
