On May 15, 2018, there will be a special flag raising ceremony at the St. Johns County Administration Building honoring our POW / MIA’s.  The Veterans Council has donated two flags to be flown at the County Administration Building and the County Health and Human Services Building.  The ceremony will begin at 7:30 AM ( 0730 ) at 500 San Sebastian View.  This will be followed by a Purple Heart ceremony at 9 AM in the County auditorium.

The County Commissioners, by proclamation will declare St. Johns County a Purple Heart County. All St. Johns County combat wounded veterans who have served in the armed forces and awarded a Purple Heart will be recognized by the County Commissioners during the regular Commission meeting. We would like to have a large turnout for both these special events as we honor our deserving veterans.
