In its’ fourth year, Great Chefs of St. Augustine is being held at the River House on May 24, 2018. Hosted by Jacksonville Magazine, it is modeled after popular TV culinary competitions and pits two teams made up of some of St. Augustine’s best chefs against each other.

Team Island consists of:
Chef Ben Loose, Gas Full Service Restaurant
Chef Bob Henle, The Reef
Chef Fred Underhill, Sunset Grille
Chef Tasha Peters, By Design Catering
Jason Barone, mixologist, Conch House

Team Mainland:
Jason Gustavson, mixologist, Prohibition Kitchen
Chef John Botkin, Casa Monica Resort & Spa
Chef Genie McNally, The Floridian Restaurant
Chef Matthew Brown, Collage
Chef Nils Rowland, Crème de la Cocoa

Members of each team will work together to produce an exceptional four-course dinner paired with wines from Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. Diners should come hungry!  As the chefs go head-to-head, the patrons judge each course which will determine the winning team.

Catholic Charities of St. Augustine is the beneficiary of this year’s event. 100% of the proceeds from Great Chefs of St. Augustine will go directly to the purchase of food for their Weekend Hunger Backpack Program and Back Roads Program. Both these programs provide nutritional food to the children and families in our community.
